ALAN MASON
Hi, I’m Alan Mason, an ordinary boy born in Ostend, Belgium, in 1964. Although I received a high school education in mechanics, my career path led me through various industries, including construction, security, and airport services.
As a hobby, I enjoy playing golf and I am also a radio amateur (shortwave). Since the onset of the pandemic, I’ve taken on the role of a radio host at Radio Apollo in Wiekevorst. My show, “The Invitation,” features casual and pleasant two-hour chats with both well-known and lesser-known artists. Being a radio host, it exposes me to a wide range of music. My favorite style is country, which likely influenced my own musical preferences. Inspired by artists like Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton, and Johnny Cash, I decided to record my own song. With my deep, sonorous voice, I hope it resonates with listeners and finds its way onto many radios. The song “That Man On The Radio” was penned by Floyed Edward Conard from Belgium and released under Klaus Wallerstorfer’ label, “Der Musikstammtisch,” in collaboration with Sound Art Salzburg. The song describes my hobby as a radio host, my love for my wife, and my radio show “The Invitation” (De Uitnodiging) on Sunday’s in the afternoon on Radio Apollo.
